Shanna Gerlach

Shanna spent her childhood at her family’s kitchen table splattered with paint and glue, climbing trees and “exploring” in her backyard, and sneaking books and journals under the covers past bedtime. Though it didn’t seem inevitable at the time, it’s unsurprising that Shanna is now a full-time designer, part-time writer, and more-than-avid runner, and feels just as at home writing custom poems for strangers (and sometimes friends) with Typewriter Rodeo as she does on the track or trail, behind a camera and collage scissors, or as a professional brand and website designer for science + tech companies. She types on a 1928 Remington Portable No. 2 and a bright red Olivetti Valentine from the 1970s.
