A guidebook for creatives
Curated by Nora Shalaway Carpenter
Essays on whether to quit your day job. Specifics on how to write a compelling scene. Advice on building a creative community — and leaning on them in tough times.
Featuring contributions from a diverse group of over 30 nationally-celebrated authors and North Carolina powerhouse creatives, Spinning Toward the Sun is part craft manual, part life companion. It offers both hands-on guidance to writers, and inspiration to anyone dealing with tough times.
100% of proceeds to Hurricane Helene recovery efforts
Every author donated their time and words to Spinning, and all proceeds go to nonprofits Beloved Asheville and World Central Kitchen for Asheville’s hurricane relief. Thus, Spinning Toward the Sun also serves as an act of solidarity, as a way to help our communities — and each other — when we need it most.
